“Your instructions are more valuable to me
than millions in gold and silver.
You made me; you created me.
Now give me the sense to follow your commands.
May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy,
for I have put my hope in your word.”

Psalm 119:72-74 New Living Translation

My niece loves sculpting. This Christmas we gave her a huge box of Play Doh, her favorite to use when she feels creative. She formed this beach scene complete with sand, water, sea grass and several sea creatures. She took a lot of time and care in making this and didn’t stop until it was perfect in her eyes.

God created our world of so many marvelous things but planned to create humans before anything else. Not just any human, though—YOU!

He loved you so much from the beginning of time that He couldn’t imagine a world without you in it. He created you to be unique, singular and in His image. He gave you a special combination of gifts like no one else on earth.

Those gifts were given to you for His purpose. God asks you to use them to radiate His joy, to encourage others, to show the world the real hope found in God’s word. Praise God for His abundant blessings and the wisdom He gives you to follow in His truth. His words are more valuable than gold or silver and you are His valuable, precious treasure. So valuable that He sent His only Son to secure your place in eternity, a place he created for you, His special creation.

“He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.”
James 1:18 New Living Translation
