“For the word of God is alive and powerful.”
Hebrews 4:12 New Living Translation
Do you remember a favorite book that you read as a child? I loved to read and one of my beloved books was “Favorite Poems Old and New.” I even memorized some of those poems for fun! Years later I wished I still owned that book, but it was no longer published. I’m sure some of your favorite books are now out of print, relegated to a bookcase in a thrift store or a dusty basement—or worse—in a landfill because the story became outdated or a new story overshadowed the old one.
We are fortunate that we have a book of truth that will never fade, become dated or forgotten. God’s word will always stand the test of time because it embodies words of God’s love, joy, wisdom and salvation. It contains words so alive and powerful they will never fade away. Spend some time reading His word and discover anew the pages that reveal who God is and how much He loves you.
“The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever.”
Isaiah 40:8 New Living Translation
