“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.”
Matthew 28:6
Last night all seemed hopeless. Grief filled my heart and there was no reason to live. My Lord had died and with it all my dreams.
However, this is a new morning. The sun arose, and when I went to the grave He was not there! He had risen! I could see the place where He lay, but He is not there!
Indeed, it is true…the Lord’s compassion does not fail, for it is new every morning. Great is your faithfulness, O Lord!
No matter what your grief may be…no matter what your sin and guilt may be…no matter how dark it may seem, this is a new morning! His light chases away your darkness! His Life drives away your death! His peace overtakes your hopelessness!
Because Jesus is alive, I too am alive! Because my Lord is raised, I too will be raised! Because the Lord lives, I too can live.
“Where, o death, is your victory? Where, o death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).
The Lord Jesus had died, but now He is risen! The new Light of His Life, Glory, and Peace has changed everything. It had been such a long night, but the dawn has come. Our Morning Star has appeared and the darkness will never overcome Him.
May the joy of our risen Savior grant you His presence, peace, and forgiveness in every place of grief, sin, and death. He is risen! He is risen, indeed! Hallelujah!
