Molded by God’s Will

My wife and I just moved into a new apartment this week, and while we don’t have a lot of things (and it only took us one day to move to the other side of the Springs), it is still a big season of change in our life. There will be plenty of new adventures that God is going to take us on and challenges that we have not yet faced. Even in the smaller seasons of life, God has a plan to shape us, and mold us, to be more like Christ in the process.

God does not take us through seasons of change to annoy us, or to make our lives harder, even though sometimes we may feel that way. Humans typically do not handle change well, we like familiarity, we like being comfortable, because it gives us a faux sense of control. God brings us to and through these seasons of change, because if we let Him, He is going to make us who we are supposed to be.

When new things are thrown our way it is a great test of our faith, our resilience, our ability, and our willingness to learn. When we get too comfortable in our own way, our own routine, sometimes we stop learning. We feel comfortable and in control. Not that being comfortable is a sin, but that God always wants us to be growing, learning, and building our faith and trust in him. So rather than begrudgingly accepting change, let us have an attitude of joy, and eagerness, to learn and to grow.
