“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.  I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10 English Standard Version

God provides… abundantly.  How often God has provided for me in a time of need.  He doesn’t just give me a few strawberries, but an abundant harvest of strawberries!

Jesus came that we might have life.  Life given through His death and resurrection.  Life won through His suffering and merciful sacrifice.  Forgiveness, peace, joy, love, faith… all given through Him.

And Jesus does not give these blessings in a stingy manner.  He gives His blessing of life in the most abundant form imaginable.  He doesn’t just give me barely enough salvation so that I can go to heaven.  He pours out His Spirit upon me so that I can help bring His abundant life to others in great abundance.

A strawberry plant begins as a very small seedling.  But when it grows to maturity, it provides abundant fruit, filling the needs of many.  And there is much joy in that harvest!

Jesus pours out His Spirit, His Word, His salvation in abundant fashion.  And many will share in that abundant outpouring of His love and mercy.  The Lord has given you His forgiveness, share that abundance.  The Lord has given you His joy, share that abundance.  The Lord has given you His faith, share that abundance.  The Lord has given you His love, share that abundance.

Do not be afraid, you will not run out of His abundant life.  It flows from His unending love and mercy.  Share His love and peace and Good News in outrageous abundance, just as He poured out upon us His abundant love and life!

Lord, forgive me for being stingy with Your love and mercy and Good News.  Send Your Holy Spirit to me and give me boldness and faith to share Your abundant life with all!  Amen!
