“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place… and he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

Hebrews 11:8 English Standard Version

In our congregation, we are working through the entire Bible in story form. At the beginning, we talked about Abraham and his adventure with God. He didn’t have a map, or even know what the destination was going to be. God called Abraham to go, and he went.

What an adventure.

I see my little ones explore every day, not necessarily sure what the destination is, but excited to have an adventure. Like Abraham, we know the promises of God. Abraham trusted that God would deliver him and protect him. We have even more knowledge of God than Abraham did, because the Father has revealed himself to us in his Son.

Jesus tells us what the destination is: that he will come again to restore us and all of Creation to himself. He is going to make all things new. Because we know that destination, we can explore and have adventures in this world that we have been given.

Go out and explore.
