The Work God is Doing

“Then he continued, ‘Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.’”
Daniel 10:12-13 New International Version
We don’t always see what God is doing behind the scenes. We don’t see the work of angels set into place.
God’s timing is not our timing. We have a very limited perspective, only seeing what is in front of us and only seeing the material world. But what we see is a small part of His grander process. A process that must be trusted into the hands of a Sovereign Lord even when we do not understand. There is only so much we can see in the circumstances around us, like a racehorse with blinders in place limiting our view.
It was said to be three weeks since Daniel began praying. The very first day Daniel cried out to God, the answer of redemption had been set into motion, but the commanding angel was held up by an evil force.
Have you felt like God wasn’t listening? Like all you could hear was silence? Maybe you are praying for redemption in this fallen world, but have yet to see the fruit of such requests.
Maybe there is more behind the scenes that we cannot see.
God’s plans are beyond what we can fathom. The work He is accomplishing is beyond what we can see. There are spiritual forces that we do not physically see.
But God is faithful. He will answer our prayers, He will rescue us, He will redeem us. It may come in a different timing or a different facet than we expected, but God answers our prayers. He is doing a good work within us and for us.
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”
