“For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation.”
2 Timothy 4:3-5a New Living Translation
I’ve seen this car several times and think the message is humorous. But in truth, many people don’t believe in us, in who we were made to be, because they don’t believe in who created us. It’s easier for some to believe in Bigfoot than in Jesus Christ.
Why is this true? Scripture speaks of how easily people are led astray, especially if they want to hear words that fit their need to follow their own desires. Even for us who do believe, sin is enticing and can easily drag us away from the truth that we have in Christ.
If we don’t search for truth but follow unproven theories, then we start to see evidence that matches our narrative instead of looking for evidence of the authentic story. It’s imperative that we keep a clear mind and stay rooted in the facts. We must consider the Scriptures as our daily lifeline to The Truth, so we won’t fall for man-made theories that sound believable but aren’t rooted in Christ’s word.
And Jesus will always keep you safe from those who would drag you away from His Word. Bigfoot doesn’t believe in you, but Jesus died for you and, unlike Bigfoot, He cares for you and loves you. That is Truth! Hold on to Christ and His Word, and He will always give you a clear mind in any situation to stay focused on Him.
