“Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days.
The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses.
Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers
and singing and joy!
The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon,
as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.
There the Lord will display his glory,
the splendor of our God.
With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands,
and encourage those who have weak knees.
Say to those with fearful hearts,
‘Be strong, and do not fear,
for your God is coming to destroy your enemies.
He is coming to save you.’”
Isaiah 35:1-4 New Living Translation
Even though it may seem hard to imagine at this moment, someday Christ will return. He will arrive in splendor and glory, covering the earth’s deserts and vast wastelands in beautiful, fragrant flowers. On that day we will rejoice and even God’s creation will sing with joy at His arrival.
These are wonderful words for us to hear, for in times like these we can find strength and courage to look forward to Christ’s coming, when God’s glory will be on display for us to see. God promises that He is coming to rescue and restore us. He promises to destroy all sin, evil and death. He promises that we will live with Him forever.
God loves you more than you can imagine or ever comprehend. So be strong and do not live in fear, for our God is mighty and powerful to help you no matter what comes your way.
