Come, have breakfast with the risen Lord!

“When they got there, they found breakfast waiting for them—fish cooking over a charcoal fire, and some bread.
“Bring some of the fish you’ve just caught,” Jesus said. So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net to the shore. There were 153 large fish, and yet the net hadn’t torn.
“Now come and have some breakfast!” Jesus said. None of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Then Jesus served them the bread and the fish.”
John 21:9-13 New Living Translation
When I read this story, I’m the one having breakfast with Jesus by the fire. We are sharing fish, but I am also sharing my thoughts, desires and a good many questions with my risen Lord and Savior. I can’t wait until He speaks directly to me with His words of wisdom and grace.
Have you ever wanted to sit across from Jesus in the flesh, asking Him for guidance, sharing your struggles, establishing your life’s purpose? Maybe it’s your heart’s desire to thank Him for His mercy and love, or you long for a huge hug from him. But until that day, when we will share a meal with our Lord in heaven at His banquet table, we can be close to Him—in prayer, through the Holy Spirit, in His word to us and through fellowship with other believers.
Never hesitate to invite Jesus into your day, whether you are catching fish or eating them. He’ll be delighted to be with you in His Spirit.
