Built for Burdens

God always takes care of our burdens when we turn them over to Him.

“Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”
Psalm 55:22 New Living Translation

Oxen are cows or bulls that have been trained to work. These powerful animals pull plows, logs, boulders, wagons and anything else that is too heavy for humans to move by themselves. They weigh from 1,000 to 4,000 pounds and can accomplish as much work as that of eight men in one day.

There’s not a single individual on earth that doesn’t have a burden of some kind. Whether it’s a person, a health issue, finances, a job or even past guilt, everyone is living with something that weighs heavily on their heart.

A lot of worldly advice tells us to shake it off or be tough and handle it on your own terms. Realistically, though, our own solutions don’t always give us the outcome or peace we seek, and we often feel inadequate to handle our own problems.

But this is exactly where God wants us to be, because it is in our weakness that he bears life’s burdens. When we realize that we can’t possibly carry our own load and we surrender it to Him, then the most amazing thing happens. He answers our cries for help and even arranges a far better outcome than we could ever imagine.

Stop trying to be strong as an ox in your life. God is there to help you with every burden. Just ask Him. He will intervene with His very best plan for you and ease your heavy load.
