Psalm 32:8 NIV
God continually guides us through life. God uses the events we encounter to lead and guide us. There are difficulties we face or lessons we learn that shape our future. Hopefully with these circumstances, we become more like Jesus. As a sculptor chisels away at marble in order to create a fine work of art, so God uses even the smallest events of our days to shape us. Often when we reflect and look back, we can see events that equipped us for current stages. The challenges can bring us closer toward a life walking with God. Different skills and experiences can be built upon as we progress and grow.
The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
Psalm 37:23-24 NIV
Sometimes disappointments unfold into new opportunities. We don’t often see this until we look back with a new perspective. The moments of failing and stumbling and struggling can be times where God can work something beautiful in us and through us. The Lord is our Stronghold and our Cornerstone. We can trust in Him, knowing the chiseling will not be in vain.
This is our hope when we face difficult periods in our lives or when we feel those growing pains. We can remind ourselves of times in our past that God has unveiled blessings that we never saw coming. Lean into the love of God and know He has us in His very hands. Our Creator is never out of reach.
