“O Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
   They cannot be numbered!

I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
    you are still with me!”
Psalm 139: 1-6, 17-18 New Living Translation

My niece’s Newfoundland loves to snuggle up to her as close as possible and smother her with her entire furry presence. And my niece loves her back, giving her hugs whenever she requires one. Even though a dog of this size could be overwhelming, she knows just how much of her presence she can impose on my niece without overwhelming or harming her.

In this Lenten season, are you moving closer to Christ? He is always nearby, waiting to be invited into your life. No matter what you are doing, He is present, because He loves you intensely and abundantly. Christ would delight in overwhelming you with His Spirit and His goodness and longs for your time, your prayers and your love.

Move closer to the Father through reading His words of joy meant for you. He knows everything about you, because He made you. He carefully designed you with care and intention. He is totally devoted to you and yearns to spend time with you. He wants you to draw closer to Him. Give Christ all the love, honor and praise, for He is most worthy and delights in you.
