“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’”
John 8:12 New Living Translation
At times we’ve all been overwhelmed by the darkness in our souls. With tender loving care, God shines a revealing light on our hearts to expose any sinfulness, past wounds or sorrows that need to be brought into His forgiving and healing light.
Once we surrender to the One who loves and forgives us, our whole life will be radiant with His love. With Jesus’ help we will stay safe on His life-giving path and not be distracted by the seemingly fascinating yet deadly things of the dark. Then, if we see anyone who is living in darkness and desperately seeking light, we can lovingly bring them into His presence to meet a Savior who is pure light and love, and who can rescue them from a life in the shadows of despair.
With the light of Christ in our hearts, we can shine brightly in the darkness as we live out our relationships with kindness, encouragement, and wisdom, reflecting His glory all of our days.
“Now, since Jesus rescued us through His great sacrifice and resurrection, His overwhelming light permeates every corner of our lives! Our relationship with Christ is unbreakable and our hearts have His impenetrable armor to repel and flee all darkness.”
Luke 11:35-37 New Living Translation
