“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
Psalm 23:6 NIV
No matter where we walk. No matter what circumstances we face. No matter what path we wander. God’s goodness and love will follow us. They will be pursuing us to no end.
When times seem dark or hope seems lost, God is following each and every day. Step by step and walk by walk, he will never leave us or forsake us. He pursues us and loves us relentlessly and perfectly.
It is so easy to get caught up in this life. The worries of our earthly journeys can drown out the words of Jesus. We become distracted by the hurt and pain and troubles of this world. We face roadblocks and stress and concerns that overwhelm and distress us.
But this earthly life is going to end sooner or later. We don’t know when or why, but we know it will end all the same.
What matters most is Christ Jesus our God and Savior. What matters above our earthly trials and triumphs is eternity. We will be with Him in eternity. We will have a perfect and whole relationship with Him beyond what we can fathom. What matters most is dwelling in the house of the Lord forever. We are commanded to love God and love people. Loving people is a means of loving God. We are acting as Jesus’ hands and feet on earth. God desires that all are saved, that all would spend eternity in relationship with Him. If we are Kingdom focused and our hearts are bent toward loving Christ, then we will pursue loving people and sharing the Gospel.
