I was asking a friend of mine to help me with an issue. When I told him I didn’t know how to come to a conclusion, he said ‘follow the peace.’

This made so much sense to me. Peace is something I’ve experienced multiple times. It’s tangible and weighty.

In reading the Bible we find out more about the power of peace.

They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.
1 Peter 3:11

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.
Psalm 29:11

Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace.
Psalm 37:37

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Isaiah 26:3

LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
Isaiah 26:12

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace…
1 Corinthians 14:33

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

There is peace that God gives us in the situation we’re currently facing and toward the place we should be. Peace is not complicated but sometimes we need encouragement to move toward the better thing. Irritation with our current role, even anger, needs to be discerned as a situation we’re to master or leave. Following peace does not mean falling for the ‘grass is greener’ theory, either.

The power of God’s peace keeps us in rhythm with what He determines is best for our lives. This is how we figure out what it means to do the thing God wants us to do to bring glory to Him.
