“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 New Living Translation
Humanity uses the word “Love” for many uses outside its true meaning. We use it to express our preference for everything from pickles to poodles, from movies to memorable experiences.
When God gave His Son to be born in lowly conditions and die a horrific death to save each one of us, that was the ultimate expression and meaning of love. Nothing, especially sin, can separate us from His love anymore!
The truth is that His love is for all of mankind. We can be assured that He will love us now and forever. Jesus is also the source of our love for others over ourselves, and He asks that we love one another by encouraging their faith, providing for anyone in need and sharing the good news of the Savior’s birth to those who have yet to know His great love for them.
Let us never take His love for us for granted. Love is the most precious gift we will ever receive or ever give to others. Treasure the love of Jesus in your heart this Christmas and know that His love is with you every moment. He will never fail you.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39 New Living Translation
