No Fear

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9b
Are you fearful (or worried, anxious, nervous, scared, troubled or any of the other words we use to describe our fear)?
Many people are fearful. They are filled with fear over the state of the world, the state of their finances, the state of their health, the state of their emotions, and the state of their family. Perhaps you, too, are worried, or anxious, over many small and large things.
The children in this mural, by Norman Rockwell, are not fearful. They sleep peacefully, although their parents are more than aware of the many things that bring fear in this world. However, these children are at peace because they trust that their mom and dad will take care of them. They trust them.
You can trust God to take care of you, also. As little children trust their parents, so you can trust your Heavenly Father. Your Father knows what you need and will provide your daily bread. He will protect you from all harm and danger. He has a plan for you, and will be with you wherever you go.
We as His children know this is true because His promises are all true in Christ Jesus. He, who did not withhold His own Son from us, will surely give us all that we need.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Dear Lord, I do trust in you. Make my soul to be like that of a little child. Still and quiet my troubled heart. I rest on your unchanging grace, and your strong Word. In Christ Jesus, Amen.
