With fall arriving around the country, many of us take a trip to seek out the beauty of the annual autumn foliage. The crisp air and the colorful landscape leave us feeling serene. It’s good to get away from our everyday lives and worldly problems to seek out solace in nature through earth’s seasonal beauty.

In our relationship with Christ, time away in His creation seems sweeter and fills our souls with His assurance that He is always near. We are blessed that we can never escape His presence. Christ is always with us, but His creation points us to His power and majesty, instilling praise, thanksgiving and a new spirit of hope within us.

While His imprint and essence are everywhere in this world by His design, we want to spend time with God in His creation to experience His nearness and the joy He brings to our hearts and minds. It’s simply delightful to seek God in the tranquility and beauty when few distractions separate us from Him. He longs to be with us in a quiet and restful place.

So, if you were thinking you might need to get outside in nature even if it’s just a nearby park, plan the trip and take the time to allow God to fill your soul with His awesome goodness and overwhelming love.
