Through our spiritual deserts God sustains us as He changes us.

This school classroom in Uganda seems like a bleak room, but it is also a place where precious children can receive a valuable education though they live in a desolate, impoverished land.
When your soul feels parched and void of light, you don’t always have the vision to recognize that God uses these times to teach you, His precious child, something He needs you to learn. Maybe God wants you to understand more about His character, His will for your life, or His love. Maybe you need healing of some deep hurt or to learn to forgive someone who hurt you. But there seems to be only long days of living in a vast spiritual desert, trudging through the deep sand of despair, searching fretfully for peace.
“Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love,
which you have shown from long ages past.”
Psalm 25:4-6 New Living Translation
Take heart, because whatever changes God wants to make in you come with His sustaining hope for the difficult road. That hope overcomes the darkest desolation. Even this room has a couple of small windows where light streams in. Take heart, for the light of Christ will sustain you and bring joy as He transforms your heart, soul and mind to be more like Him.
