“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 New Living Translation
Our youth group was praying for a fundraiser for their mission trip and one of our families at Trinity offered to give the youth all the walnuts from their orchard and dry them if the youth would help pick them up. What a generous gift! The youth really got into the walnut gathering and ended up with a thousand pounds of walnuts to sell!
God gives abundant gifts to each of us. Perhaps not always walnuts, but so many other great blessings. Family, friends, clothing, food, health, breath, and work, just to name a few. But God’s love is so abundant that he doesn’t stop there. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son…” (John 3:16a). Think of this! Not only does God create us and give us all that we need for this life, but when you and I had fallen into sin and were outside his kingdom, the Lord sent his only Son who was born as a man, suffered and was crucified, who died and was buried. He did all this because he loved us and wanted to save us! Praise God for his great Sacrifice in Jesus!
Lord, thank you that you have given us this earthly life and that through the death of Jesus, your Son, you paid for our sins and opened up to us eternal life! Thank you that as you have given to us, so we give back to you and to others! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
“Amazing love! How can it be,
That you my King would die for me?
Amazing love, I know it’s true,
It’s my joy to honor you
In all I do, I honor you.”
