“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.”
Psalm 33:18 The New International Version
This owl continually watches over our garden by day and night. He never sleeps nor slumbers, he guards our crops from all matter of enemies and dangers.
You have a God who watches over you. His eyes are on those who fear Him, whose hope is in His unfailing love, for those who acknowledge Jesus as Lord, who trust in Him to save them, whose faith is centered upon His love. Because He has demonstrated His love for you in sending His Son to die, to suffer upon a cross to take away the sins of the world, you need have no doubt that He will deliver you from sin, death, and the devil.
As parents, we watch over our children carefully, striving to keep them from harm. But even the most vigilant parent cannot always be with their child. Parents are mortal and limited, but God is not. A parent must sleep, has other duties and concerns, can be distracted by other cares and needs. But our Lord never sleeps, He never removes His eyes from us, He will not be distracted by the cares of the universe.
You have a God who knows and cares even when a sparrow falls to the ground. He knows every hair on your head, every thought in your head, every sorrow in your heart. He knows your troubles and will deliver you from every danger and bring you through this life to His home forever with Him.
“I’ve got my eye on you!”, when spoken by God, is one of the greatest comforts any believer in Jesus can have. Thank you, Lord, for watching over me day and night. I trust in You. Amen.
