He is Our Servant

By Pastor Don Schatz

The Third Servant Song

“The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.  The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.  I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.”
Isaiah 50:4-6 New International Version

I strain to hear my Father’s voice, like one straining to hear a whisper on the wind.  My ears tune out all but those sound waves which carry His Words; my heart aches to hear the sweet melody of His Grace; my mind seeks to wrap itself around His intention–His intention for you.

I am God’s Servant.  I am Jesus.  I am for you.  I did not rebel from my Father’s Words.  His love is my love, and my love is His.  His will is my will, and my will is His.  His Grace is my Grace and my Grace is His.   His intention is my intention, and my intention is His.

We looked, the Father, the Spirit and I—we saw you walking in the world.  You looked incomplete.  We looked again and we saw you walking in the world with us.  Ah, that was better.  Shades of Eden!  The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary!  Whoever has ears to hear, open them up, and let them hear.
