When hot air balloons soar into the air, they are at the mercy of the currents that can take them into dangerous places. High wind gusts and extreme weather changes are potentially hazardous. Coming into contact with electrical lines or other objects could be fatal. But if you trust the pilot and follow his guidance, you are in for an exciting and breathtaking ride.

This is true for us. Life can be an exhilarating ride when we trust and follow the guidance of our life’s pilot, Jesus Christ our Savior. His words are not meant to be cumbersome or to spoil our fun. They are meant to keep us safe and wise while He creates breathtaking new experiences and opportunities for us. It’s meant to shine light in the dark places so we can see and avoid any threats on the path before us. We also honor our Savior by taking His word into our hearts and living by it. God’s Word protects, advises, encourages, and gives us peace.

“When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.”
