“And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.”
Acts 4:31 English Standard Version

Have you ever felt the urging to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with someone, and hesitated because you were scared of their reaction?  Perhaps you thought to yourself, “Will they get angry?  Will they ask me hard questions I can’t answer?  Am I just not adequate for sharing Jesus with someone?”

This is a very common problem for believers, fear that keeps them from sharing the life giving message of salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ.  The early church knew what to do when they were scared because of persecution and opposition to sharing the Lord Jesus.  They called upon the Lord together fervently and frequently.  And when they prayed together for boldness to speak the Word of God to others, the Holy Spirit came upon them and filled them with boldness and wisdom.  In the above passage we see that when they prayed, the place where they were gathered together was even shaken!

Do you need Holy Spirit boldness to bear witness of forgiveness of sins and salvation in Jesus?  Gather with other believers and cry out to God together.  The Holy Spirit will come to you and give you boldness and wisdom in sharing the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ.  For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Lord, you know how I am often timid and afraid to share your Good News.  Please send your Holy Spirit to me that I might be filled with boldness and wisdom in witnessing of my faith in our Lord Jesus.  Amen.
