He Intercedes for Me

“Christ Jesus who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”
Romans 8:34b New International Version
I could not resist posing with this bigger than life statue of one of our presidents, Ronald Regan. After all, who wouldn’t want to be with someone famous and important like President Regan?
But when the difficulties of life come and weigh me down and my sins burden me and Satan condemns me, whom would I want to have with me, interceding for me, speaking for me? Not a great statesman or powerful person or any famous celebrity but Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. It is Jesus who died for me and was raised to life and is standing at the right hand of the throne of God and is interceding for me!
Imagine that, Jesus is praying for you right now, pleading for your salvation. Not pleading for you on the basis of your goodness or righteousness, but on the authority and righteousness of His own blood poured out for you on Calvary!
Jesus is at your side, in your corner, at your right hand in every difficulty and every struggle with the Evil One. With Him interceding for you, no one may accuse you or condemn you or bring any charge against you. In Jesus nothing will separate you from the love of God. In Jesus, all sins are forgiven and in Him we are conquerors. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for taking all my sins upon you and interceding for me before the Father. In you I find my security and my Joy! Amen.
