“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’  My times are in your hands…”
Psalm 31:14,15a New International Version

As you look out to sea, what do you experience?  Wave after wave of breakers, endlessly rolling in, again and again and again…?

Your future may feel the same way, an endless rolling on of hard experiences, day after day of life’s suffering and crises relentlessly crashing upon you.  You may rightly feel you have little control over what the waves of life will bring you.

Do not be afraid!  Do not fear what life will bring you!  For your life is in God’s hands, the Lord who is the maker of heaven and earth.  Commit your future, your ways to Him.  Trust His mercy and grace, trust His love for you in Christ Jesus.  Say to the Lord, “My times are in Your hands…”

Without the Lord, life is an endless crashing of breakers upon you, a never ending beating of discouragement and fear and heartache.  But in Christ Jesus, life has meaning and purpose and joy.  Life has hope and peace and contentment.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart.  Trust Him with your past, your present, and your future.

No matter what the waves of life may bring you, God’s love for you in Christ Jesus is constant.  What the Lord Jesus did for you on the cross never changes.  It is a rock that will not move no matter what life may throw at you.  You have a solid place to stand, a place of rescue and redemption, of grace and peace.

Lord Jesus, I entrust my life into Your hands.  I will trust in You no matter what life may throw at me this day.  You are my God, and in You I will not be afraid! Amen.
