Though the day of Christmas is over, the real joy of Jesus’ birth is always here!

“But the angel reassured them. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!'”
Luke 2:10-11 New Living Translation
When Mary had the baby Jesus, it most certainly was a hectic day. She had traveled miles on a dusty road to Bethlehem, had to quickly find a place to give birth, and then shepherds showed up to worship Jesus.
After Jesus was born and the shepherds returned to their fields, Joseph had to find someplace for the family to live. He may have needed to find work to support them. Life began to become more routine, at least for a while.
It’s two days after Christmas. The wrapping paper and boxes are in the trash, the shopping frenzy of after Christmas sales has died down and family may have returned home. Maybe the decorations have even been put away. It’s Monday, too, so you may have returned to work, are traveling home or putting your house in order after the celebration.
Whether your Christmas was quiet or buzzing with activity, whether it was full of family drama or lived up to your expectations, Jesus stays the same. Though daily life may return to a routine, the awesome news of Jesus’ birth remains. This little baby grew to be the Savior of the world! Don’t let the joy of that news slip away from your heart with the end of the season.
“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.”
