“…Christ Jesus is the one who died – more than that, who was raised – who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”
Romans 8:34 English Standard Version

Christ Jesus sacrificed Himself to save the world, He died for our sins so that anyone who would believe in Him would not perish, but have eternal life.  Not only did He die for us to pay the debt of our sins, He rose from the dead to give us eternal life by conquering death itself.

But our Lord did not just do those two great acts of crucifixion and resurrection.  Jesus continues to intercede for us at the right hand of the throne of God.  He is pleading our case before the Father, reminding His Father of His sacrifice for us, how we are set free by the blood He poured out.  He prays for us continually, that we might not fall into temptation, that we might remain faithful unto Him, even unto death.

Do you sometimes feel alone and forgotten by others?  Jesus is praying for you.  Do you sometimes feel weak and heavy laden?  Jesus is praying for you.  Do you sometimes forget to pray because of your worries and weakness?  Jesus is praying for you.

In the upper room only hours before Jesus would be arrested and suffer and die, Jesus was praying for you.  He prayed for His disciples in the Supper with Him and He prayed for you who would come to know Him many years later.  You have a Prayer Warrior, an Interceder that is faithful and continually pleads for you.  Even as He was faithful unto death, so He will be faithful in His prayer for you and me.

Lord, thank you that you died and rose for me.  Thank you that you are praying for me right now.  I commend myself into Your care.  Amen.
