Looking to God as we wait for change.

Sometimes I think I would love to be a meteorologist on television. They are people who can be wrong, day after day, and still be employed.
If you think about someone who predicts the weather, it can seem comical to predict something that God controls.
It’s common to look at the weather when it’s days, or weeks, out when we are planning an event like a vacation. Checking the weather is only an estimate, at best it’s a guess.
Life can be like checking the weather. One day we may be in a situation that seems hopeless. The prediction of the outcome looks gloomy, and then God changes it in an instant. Or life can be going smoothly when a kink in our plan happens.
“In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
God answers prayers but bad things still happen at times, because Satan still roams the Earth.
“Your adversary the devil prowls around like a lion, looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8
The good news is Satan is not God’s equal. He’s a fallen angel whose only power is through suggestion. It’s up to us to agree with his suggestion and give him that power.
We aren’t in heaven, yet. However, our mandate is to bring heaven to earth, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and to put on the armor of God every day.
The clouds in this picture were unusual. They had a mountainous whipped cream appearance, but there was no rain or wind. Then about ten minutes later they passed.
Life is a lot like these clouds, passing, and the storm can seem larger than what God can handle. It is not!
Our lives here are to be used for His glory in the short time we are here. The trials are meant to grow us, but with the difficulties in life is the opportunity to die to self.
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
John 3:30
The unpredictability of life can get us down if we allow it to happen. However, if we hang on it will change. Look up, surrender, and let the overflow of what He pours into us flow out on everyone we encounter.
God will take care of the rest.
