“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Ephesians 6:18 New International Version

When Braedon became our new intern at Trinity, one of the first tools he was given was a prayer shawl.  Our “prayer knitters” have made over 500 prayer shawls and given them to young and old alike, praying for that person as they knitted the shawl.  The recipient is invited to wear that prayer shawl as they say their daily prayers, knowing that the prayers of many are with them as they pray.

Saint Paul tells us to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions”, or some translations say, “at all times”.  We are invited by the Lord to pray at all times for all of the Lord’s people.  That is an invitation for conversation with the Triune God at any time and in any place.  Just think of that!  The Lord is giving us an open line to Himself without reservation or limits!  There is no time that is inconvenient for Him or when He might be out for the day.

Do you have a concern for a brother or sister in Christ?  Take it to the Lord in prayer.  Do you have a deep sin you need to confess?  Take it to the Lord in prayer.  Are you lonely, weak, or heavy laden?  Take it to the Lord in prayer.  Do you have a vision for bringing Jesus to others?  Take it to the Lord in prayer.

At anytime, anyplace, on any subject, you can have an intimate conversation with your Creator, Redeemer, Comforter.  There is none who is as faithful, merciful, or powerful as our faithful, merciful, powerful God.  Talk it out with Him.  Pour it out on Him.  Ask Him for anything.  He is listening and loving and will answer you in the wisest and most merciful ways.  Take it to the Lord in prayer.  Amen.
