Only God is strong enough to renew the flames of your smoldering fire.

“Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.”
Romans 12:12-13 The Message
Is your fire not burning as hot as it was a couple of months ago? Are worries, fears, and loneliness flooding your soul and turning your flame into ashes? Well-prepared wood and the right fuel are needed to keep a hot fire burning strong.
Repeatedly in Scripture God tells us to be strong, but He doesn’t leave us without instruction on how to find that strength. Jesus is the source of our strength. He tells us to put on the armor of His word, to have faith and courage, to never give up and to expect His return. Leaning on Jesus in prayer, focusing on others in need, loving your neighbor and giving praise to Christ who loves you is the only solid source of strength. These provide the perfect fuel to rekindle the fire in your heart, mind and soul.
Read some of David’s Psalms over the next few days and notice how He asked God for personal strength and for God to show His strength in difficult times. Then, as David did, praise God for His strength which you can depend on in any situation in your life.
“All of our praise rises to the One who is strong enough to make you strong, exactly as preached in Jesus Christ.”
