Make Me to Shine Like the Sun

“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
Proverbs 4:18 New International Version

The morning sun shines in through our eastern windows at Trinity, spreading multi-colored light across our sanctuary.  Worshipers love the Sunday mornings when the sun shines and the stories of God pictured on those windows are spread across everyone present.

God has shined His Light in Jesus Christ into our lives and with each passing day, His Light grows stronger and stronger in us, lighting the path before us and shining on all those around us.  Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”  (Matthew 5:16b)  You are Christ’s reflected light, the light of salvation and grace that would shine into people’s lives, chase out the darkness of sin, and bring them into the glorious light of Jesus Christ.

We pray continually that God’s Light in His Word would shine in us stronger and stronger each day.  That God would use every struggle and challenge in our lives to draw us closer to Him.  That  Holy Spirit fire would burn in us ever brighter as we have daily opportunity to bear witness to God’s grace and love in Jesus.  That we would shine brighter and brighter for Jesus until He comes to take us all home.

And won’t it be glorious to shine forever in His brilliant light as we sing praises forever with all the saints and angels?!  And we will see Jesus’ face shining upon us with no more darkness or doubt or sin or pain or tears!
