“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 English Standard Version

I’ve been hearing the word “Maycember” a lot this year. The reference is that we all know December to be a crazy time because of all the Christmas and holiday activities, but May is that way too, especially for parents. The end of the school year brings all kind of things. I’ve been feeling stressed about it so I made a list of all the activities we have this month so that I can check them off as they are completed. This month for us includes rehearsals, concerts, recitals, ceremonies, appointments, field trips, birthday parties, meetings, and more!

It’s easy to get overwhelmed, as I seem to be. I currently can’t wait for June to arrive! But I need to remind myself that there’s meaning in all of the busy-ness. This picture comes from one of the first events we had this month, our kids’ Field Day at school. I go every year to watch and truly, it is a joyful day. The weather was sunny this year, and I enjoyed soaking it in and watching my children with pride as they had fun and tried their best.

Doing things to the “glory of God” as the verse in Corinthians says has a lot to do with gratitude. All of those things I listed are possible because we have a family who is active, has interests and skills, works hard, and supports each other. What a massive blessing that is!

I pray that in all of the busy-ness this month, we are able to do all to the glory of God, and remember with thankfulness all the blessings poured upon us, big and small. God loves us! Amen!
