More Action, Less Words

Stop Talking and Act

I’m an outward processor and I love to talk. I also love words, the definitions of words, and how a word sounds. I love the Bible, and it’s full of words inspired from the Holy Spirit. But words will only take us so far; sometimes action is what we need.

Putting our faith into action, praying for people to receive healing and wholeness, increasing our relationship with Christ, and laying hands on people are all ways we can put our faith into action. Preaching and evangelizing are amazing, and we are called to this, but stopping there short-changes the body of Christ. We are only vessels and are meant to spread the Gospel, but Jesus didn’t stop with words. The Gospel also encompasses actions.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
John 14:12 English Standard Version

Discounting our faith because we don’t want to seem weird or whatever our excuse is is actually robbing the body of Christ of more of God. We are the vessels that God works through and the way heaven comes to Earth is through us.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10 English Standard Version

Bringing heaven to Earth is one of our greatest privileges. God wants to work through us for the benefit of others and when we agree to work with God in this way, He can do His greatest work.

How do we submit to the actions of our faith? Ask God what He wants us to do and who He wants to affect. We only do what the Father does.

“So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.”
John 5:19 English Standard Version

Worship, pray, read the Bible, listen to what God is saying and then act on it; this is our faith in action.
