Not even a train has power like His.

“Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound! It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman!” These words described Superman, a hero to many in the days of radio shows and now in movies.
We are always looking for the power of heroes to fight for justice, conquer enemies, and defend our rights. Most superhero movies are written to fulfill our desire to see the power of good triumph over the power of evil. It’s a scary world, and we need to overcome our fears with some kind of strength and hope.
As believers in Christ, we know who holds the true power in this world. He is more powerful than a locomotive, a superhero, or our fears of even Satan. Sometimes we forget that the God of love, peace, and mercy is also a God of great power who is in control, even when all we see is a world out of control.
When you want to be assured of His power, reflect on these verses:
He has power over sin.
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.”
Romans 8: 1-2 New Living Translation
He has power over death.
“And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead.”
1 Corinthians 6:14 New Living Translation
He has power over any other power.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39 New Living Translation
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”
Ephesians 6:10 New Living Translation
