The messy business of resurrection.

“And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven . . . ”
Colossians 1:20-23 English Standard Version
Our Lord is risen! And we who are His are risen along with Him. We are counted righteous through Him and are reconciled with God. It is finished! Hallelujah!
This is true for us, and yet we still wrestle with the sinful nature in us, until the day we experience complete redemption of our bodies after this life.
This picture was taken outside of Steamboat Springs, Colorado in April. It was mud season as the snow ran free down the ski mountain and through the valley. Just as the snow thaws and seeps into the earth awakening new life for the spring, the Holy Spirit thaws our hardened hearts and flows and seeps into our soil, preparing it to nurture the seed of His Word. It can feel messy, like mud season, as His resurrection power works within us.
Do you feel as messy as mud season? Be encouraged. You can trust Him with your mess. Rest assured, as you hold to His Word in humility, He will continue to bring about new life in you and through you for His glory. We will be presented blameless before Him in our glorious risen Savior! Spring has sprung in our hearts! Hallelujah!
