“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”
2 Timothy 4:2 New International Version
I have a love-hate relationship with spring. It’s wonderful feeling warmer weather, seeing flowers beginning to bloom and plants turning green, but I have a lot of tree allergies, and they can really interfere with my everyday life.
When you have allergies, the only way to really survive it well is to make sure you have all the medications necessary to overcome the effects of the pollen that saturates the air. Then once all the leaves have matured to their fullness, there will be less pollen to contend with and less medication will be necessary. But you must be prepared before the season arrives, making sure you have everything you need to withstand the pollen onslaught.
We often face seasons in our lives that are drawn out and difficult for us. God provides an arsenal of tools that will help us fend off weariness and despair. Going to God in prayer, studying His word, reading other Christian resources, along with seeking encouragement from others of faith are ways we can store up an arsenal against losing our hope in Him.
Hope in Christ is the key to a victorious win over the hardships of this life. It also serves another purpose—to show others that they can find hope within their struggles through Jesus Christ, who is their strength.
When you have overcome any struggle, pursue these words from Paul:
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:10,11 New Living Translation
