No Parking in This Lot

We are restored!

This parking lot outside of Pikes Peak International Raceway, along I-25 south of Colorado Springs, is packed with thousands of cars. A German automaker has been storing hundreds of thousands of vehicles around the United States for months, because they can’t pass emissions guidelines established by the Environmental Protection Agency. These recalled vehicles sit here in the hot sun while the company decides their fate…fix them or crush them.

We are flawed, too. We are sinners. We can’t live up to the laws of our God.

“The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.”
Psalm 91:14 New Living Translation

We are blessed that our Maker hasn’t abandoned us, in a desolate parking lot, while He figures out what to do with us. His plan to rescue us is accomplished. God sent His Son to die for us, and who for us was raised back to life, so we wouldn’t have to pass any other test than to accept His merciful gift of salvation, and live in relationship with Him.

What of our flaws, our weaknesses, and our sin?

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 New Living Translation

He forgives us, heals us, and remodels us. We are not rusting in a dusty parking lot, we are growing, and changing, every day to be more like Christ through His mercy and love.

Rejoice in that today, for you have the great gift of hope in Jesus!

With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God.
I will give glory to your name forever,
for your love for me is very great.
You have rescued me from the depths of death.”

Psalm 86:12-14 New Living Translation
