Though less product costs us more on earth, there is no shrinkflation for the love Jesus has for us.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 New Living Translation
There’s a lot of buzz about shrinkflation, the process of items shrinking in size or quantity while the prices increase. The product on the left was on sale for $3.50 a couple of years ago and is now $5.40 for fewer ounces. Groceries, clothes, health care needs—many are reduced in size and sold at a higher price. Some manufacturers even remove premium ingredients in favor of cheaper ones to make up the cost difference.
It can be very disheartening when we struggle to provide for our families. Sometimes we reject a favorite product and settle for a cheaper item or quit buying the merchandise altogether.
Yet we must remember that Jesus never changes and is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow. We often shrink His power and holiness and forget that He reigns now and forever.
It’s reassuring that Christ’s love for us will never suffer from shrinkflation. It will always be free and unconditional. He paid a very high price for us, His suffering and death, and His lifegiving blood washed away all our sins and graced us with eternal forgiveness and love. He continues to bless us with perfect gifts that will last our entire life. We won’t need to shop around for a lower price or inferior product. He is far greater than anything we could possibly imagine or hope for in this world!
