Love and follow God as you travel down the path He designed for you.
“Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the Lord your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him.”
Deuteronomy 11:22 New Living Translation
My niece recently noticed a deer walking steadily down the railroad tracks that lead into a nearby town. At every crossing, there he was again, moving calmly and purposefully, almost as if he knew exactly where he was going.
We all choose our own tracks to follow. The hope is that we stay on the path God has laid out for us rather than wandering onto one of our own. His path is crafted with an intentional plan and is surrounded by beauty, shaped by relationship with Him, enriched by family, community, and purpose. When we remain within the guardrails He lovingly sets, we can trust that He walks beside us and covers us with His blessings. On His path, we don’t need to fear spiritual or earthly predators, because He is our Protector and Deliverer. And even if we do wander off, He never leaves us to fend for ourselves. He will keep searching for us and will guide us back to the safe track He designed.
“For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside.”
Job 23:11 New Living Translation
Our track doesn’t just lead to the next town or another depot. Heaven awaits at the end of our journey. Our Lord will welcome us as His children and bring us into His Kingdom forever. All fear, uncertainty, and danger will fall away, replaced by joy, peace, and the presence of Jesus. That is our true destination.
