“Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”
1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV
We see evidence of the hands of God. We see the miracle of a baby being born. We see God’s artistry in the morning sunrise and the evening sunset. We see the reflection of God’s love in our family and friends, in the kindness of a stranger. We see the joy of God in the sweet and innocent laughter of a baby. We see God opening doors in our lives and walking us through circumstances we didn’t think we could walk through.
We see in part the wonders of God.
But one day we will see Him face to face. We will see the full radiance of God.
Even the mountain top experiences we have in our faith are only a mere reflection. The life we walk daily is nothing compared to the life God has prepared for us in heaven.
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.”
1 John 3:2 ESV
One day, we will no longer see God as a dim reflection of who He is. One day, because Jesus took our place and made us holy through His death and resurrection, we will be able to see God face to face. We will be able to stand in His presence and we will be like Him. One day, the trials and troubles and pain of this world will forever be gone, and we will be with God, worshipping Him and rejoicing and forever singing praise. We will walk with God, just as Adam and Eve were able to do in the Garden of Eden. One day we will have perfect unity with our Father in Heaven and our brothers and sisters in Christ.
