Remember who He is

I would never dream of getting this close to a bear in the wild. He’s pretty cute at first glance, but do you see the size of those claws? I didn’t see his teeth and I’m fairly certain that’s just fine. This bear is housed at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo here in Colorado Springs. I was happy to have him come up so close, and pose for this picture, because I knew we had a thick wall of glass between us. I could observe him up close with no fear of what he might decide to do. 

I wonder if we often forget who God really is. He has given us a great privilege to come close to him. Through the blood of Jesus, we have been given access to God our Creator. We are allowed to be up close and personal with Him, continually learning more about the details of who He is when we draw nearer. Because of this privilege we sometimes fail to recall the full power and majesty of our God. This is likely in part because of our inability to even fully grasp the concept. Our God is too big for us to see. The biggest words in our vocabulary are too small to contain the creator of all things both visible and invisible.
