“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 English Standard Version

I was sitting in my living room one morning, and I looked out the window to see eyes looking down at my baby playing on the floor. This little cat was peeking in to see what the funny coos and other sounds were about. She peeked in to see what was going on. Do you ever wish that we could do that with God? If we could just peek around the curtain, see what God was really up to, would that make us feel any better?

In some ways, it is really hard to not know the mind of God. But like the verse from Isaiah states, God’s ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. This is a release in some ways. We can let go of whatever control we think we have, and trust God that everything is going to be okay. He has revealed to us what truly matters, the life, death, and resurrection of His Son for us through the Scriptures. Everything else is a spiritual discipline to leave in God’s worthy hands. What are you questioning with God today? How can you place that in his hands?
