Who doesn’t like putting a puzzle together? Puzzles come in all shapes and sizes; even large companies like LEGO and Ikea have figured this out. Admittedly, it can be pretty frustrating when you lay out all the pieces, but they just don’t seem to fit.

It takes attention to detail, making sure every little part fits into the surrounding parts. Of course, when in the midst of the project, mistakes will be made and there will be times you feel like just giving up.

But then the moment happens that you weren’t sure would: You complete the puzzle. Now you have your LEGO creation done or your Ikea couch put together. Never mind that pile of leftover parts sitting in the corner!

In 1 Corinthians 12, we read,

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.”
English Standard Version

You, my friend in Jesus, are part of a puzzle that is the body of Christ. There is a way that YOU fit into God’s plan and His people. It may be frustrating at times trying to solve this puzzle, because it can be hard to know where you are supposed to go.

Start with going to church, because there are people there looking for where they belong, too! You have never been destined to be an individual that is on the outside looking in; rather, you are designed for community, to be with people in the presence of God.

When God is at work in your life, there are never “leftover parts.” Each and every human is made in His image, redeemed by Jesus, and filled with His Holy Spirit. Isn’t it wonderful how God put this all together?
