Wisdom is better than foolishness.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”
James 1:5-6 New International Version
This worker in El Salvador has the right safety equipment for working high atop this wall but he’s not using it. In fact, we watched as he unhooked his harness from the tether to reach the section he needed to work on. If he slips or loses his footing—it’s a long way down and he could be gravely injured.
Be careful!
Watch your step!
Slow down!
Don’t touch that!
Don’t text and drive or text and walk!
We get all kinds of warnings in this world from those who love us and those who are required to set safety standards, such as our place of employment or government organizations. All are designed to keep us from harming ourselves. Sometimes we heed the warnings, sometimes we don’t. But one thing we know, there are usually unpleasant consequences to pay if we don’t.
Just like those who impart wisdom to us from their experience or knowledge, God’s word and prayer is our spiritual source of wisdom for our life. Through these he teaches us wisdom when we face temptations and provides the perfect guide to make life choices. He cautions us against sin amid precarious situations and leads us down the right path when opportunities come our way.
God will always give you wisdom when you ask no matter what! Ask Him freely for this wonderful gift each day!
