In Mind, Body, and Spirit: Rejoice
You can listen to today’s devotion by clicking this SoundCloud link.
“Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”Psalm 16:9-11 NIV
Rejoice in the Lord and be glad. Rest secure in mind, body, and spirit. Both emotionally and physically, praise the Lord for He is faithful. He is with us always, and He will not abandon us.
We have reason to lift our voices in praise and rest assured of the hope we have in Christ Jesus. He has saved us from death and the punishment we deserve from the choices we have made and will make. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice of death in our place so that we could forever be united with God our Father. We have been given life, and life to the full.
The way to righteousness and salvation has been paved by Jesus. The path has been revealed and God has not left us to walk it alone. We walk in God’s presence and this presence brings joy. Through struggles, fear, worries, and shame we have eternal joy at our disposal. The hope of life in eternal worship and communion with God is our anchor and guide.
The path of life is available, with God’s outstretched hands and with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Therefore let our hearts be filled with gladness. Let our tongues rejoice and proclaim the Good News of Jesus’ salvation. Let our bodies rest secure and lean into the hope that is Christ Jesus.
