As We Wait for Our Savior

“One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.”
Psalm 27:4-5 NIV
What can this world ever offer us in comparison with God the Father? When we seek the Lord above all else, how can we find life anywhere else but where He dwells?
May we seek the Lord and his dwelling place each morning as we rise. His beauty is no match for the wonders of creation. His dwelling place, His temple is an eternal one. We find safety and shelter in God. When life feels beyond our grasp or when we feel worry or fear of any degree, we can lean into our shelter and our rock. The unchanging, unmoving God who comes to our rescue. He rescued us from the greatest punishment we could face and He still comes to our rescue in our present state.
Call upon the Lord in times of trouble and seek the Almighty Creator.
“I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.”
Psalm 27:13-14 NIV
When despair knocks at our door, we can lean into the goodness of God. His goodness can be found on earth, in the land of the living. We find His work and His hand around us.
We wait patiently for the day we can see our Savior face to face. We will face despair and troubles, yet we hold onto hope. We wait for the Lord.
Be strong and take heart.
The Lord is among us, the Lord is our shelter and our rock, and the Lord is good and faithful. We wait for the day in which we will have full unity and full relationship with Christ Jesus. Be strong and take heart for we will see His goodness.
