God never abandons us.

Every year my niece searches for the perfect pumpkins to take home to decorate. She searches under every plant, looking for the right shape, size and color to embellish for Halloween. She is a diligent seeker, but once she has decided she is through looking high and low for her prize, she is done. All she wants to do is take her pumpkins and go home.
“The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.”
Psalm 9:9-10 New Living Translation
When troubles permeate our lives like a dark oppressive cloud, all we want is shelter and a restful peace to comfort our souls. We seek diligently for God to save us, for in these moments we need a heavenly refuge—someone we can trust. At times we feel like giving up when our situation seems insurmountable. We don’t see God working toward a solution anywhere. Our desire to seek the Lord fades away, and our pursuit diminishes as we forget His promises to us.
But our Savior never gives up! He promises to never fail you, never forsake you, never walk out on you. He never abandons, for any reason, those who search for Him. You can always trust in Him because you know His name. He is your kind and loving Heavenly Father. Keep pursuing Him in your prayers and through His Word.
The Lord is your refuge!
