“He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground
and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the Lord.”
Psalm 40:2-3 New Living Translation

If you’ve ever tie dyed an article of clothing, the results are always a surprise. That’s because no matter how much you manipulate the material, the finished product will have color or pattern variations based on how the fabric resists the paint after you tie it up. Sometimes it comes out close to how you saw it in your mind and sometimes it turns out like nothing you imagined, yet more beautiful than you hoped.

When you approach God with a request, how often are you completely amazed at how He answered your prayer?

We may think of several ways that God might answer our request and even tell Him how we want Him to respond, only to have the prayer answered in a surprising way we never imagined or expected.

Christ’s awesome power and majesty radiantly shine through every way He answers our prayers. He always has a purpose and a greater plan than we can ever imagine when we ask for anything in Jesus’ name. Trust all your requests to Him, for He will make the patterns of life beautiful for all who love Him and confidently approach Him. Expect to be amazed by the glorious power and wisdom of His answers, for He is the almighty and all-powerful God of everything!

“How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear You. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.”
Psalm 31:19 New Living Translation
